Inclusive Design: The Petting Zoo – Booth 6

Demonstration
Corey Timpson, Canadian Museum for Human Rights, Canada

At the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, there was an early mandate for Inclusive Design to be a key characteristic of the museum’s culture. An enormous design exercise was undertaken with the intent of seeing a museum experience created that would be fully accessible to all visitors irrespective of ability. Building on Inclusive Design 1: The Greatest of Ambitions which explored the design intent, and juxtaposing it against the implementation and realizations elaborated in Inclusive Design 2: Adventures in Accessibility, products, designs, and a variety of material will be available to provoke informed and impromptu, unscripted dialogue about iterative design and production for inclusive experiences, both in gallery and for remote audiences.
