In Los Angeles, biodiversity habitat exists mostly in backyards. Scientists can’t access most of those, but they can get data they couldn’t otherwise obtain with citizen scientists’ help, and use it to answer real-world questions. NHM is leading the charge in using citizen science (both on- and offsite) and social media to gather data about urban nature and wildlife in Los Angeles
